Reflections for MAY 20, 7th Easter: Acts 1.15-26; 1Jn 4.11-16; JN 17.11-19

'THE SAYING IN HOLY SCRIPTURE THROUGH DAVID WAS DESTINED TO BE FULFILLED IN JUDAS.' THEY THEN DREW LOTS BETWEEN TWO MEN, THE CHOICE FELL TO MATTHIAS, WHO WAS ADDED TO THE ELEVEN DISCIPLES.'

'I gave them your word, & the world hates them for it. I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to guard them from the evil one. I consecrate myself for their sakes now that they may be consecrated in truth.'

DURING THE DAY

Check out your discipleships. Follower that you are, who are you following, & why? What inspires you to imitate, to admire, to bond with? Are they worthy of such commitment? Christ is a jealous leader, & won't accept second place.

ABOUT PRAYER

Prayer can & should be 'worldly'. You're busy about many worldly things; but on the back-burner, prayer is always invoking God's grace for all concerned. He made the world good, & humans are his favorites; be his ambassador, quietly.
