Class Reunion ApproachingPaul Enger has sent a note outlining initial plans for the reunion this year hosted by the class of 1968. This page will be updated as plans soldifiy. The plans are in the early stages so everything is tentative. The event is planned for the 25th of October, a Saturday. The plan is for cocktails and dinner to be served in the Oasis Lounge which is on the far north end of the Plaza Theatre complex directly across the street from the Camino Real Hotel. After a small interlude, everyone will move upstairs again to the Plaza Sky Garden which is an open terrace with a unique view of parts of downtown (including the Museum of Art, the History Museum, the Convention Center, the Abraham Chavez Theater and the Hotel) where we will be served cocktails and coffee/dessert. Paul is working with the Convention and Visitors Bureau to obtain a special room rate at the Camino Hotel starting on the 24th and extending through the 26th so that all who wish to stay for those nights will not have to see their room rate go up. Iin the past, some of the attendees have gottentogether in the lobby bar of the hotel and it seems a good idea to continue that tradition on the night of the 24th. No plans have been nailed down for Sunday, the 26th, yet but Father Eddie is open to whatever Sacred Heart can do to be involved. He just attended his 40th reunion at Jesuit New Orleans. Father Eddie has served in the missions in Central America, at Loyola in New Orleans among many other duties, and now is pretty well settled in El Paso. |
